Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Province of Alexandria, congratulated all mothers on Mother’s Day, stressing that this day comes every year to remind us of the value of motherhood as an instinct that God has implanted in the hearts of women to fill life with love, kindness, and humanity.
The Archbishop said that Mother’s Day is a real opportunity to remember the mothers who left us and to celebrate the greatness of their sacrifices, extending special congratulations to the mothers of the martyrs of the homeland who tasted the bitterness of loss after they offered a son to sacrifice for his country
The Archbishop stressed that this day reminds us of the commandments of the Bible, which commands the good treatment of father and mother, citing a verse from the Book of Exodus: “Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long on the land which he gives you.”
