Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Province of Alexandria, presided over the service of granting a license to James Taylor as a British secular servant to serve foreign parishes in Egypt, at All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek.
The Archbishop explained – in a statement issued by the church today – that the tasks of the lay minister include assisting the pastor of the English-speaking church, “Rev. Roger Simpson” in all tasks and matters of the church and worship according to the traditions of the Episcopal/Anglican Church.
In another context, the Archbishop participated yesterday in the opening of the Patriarch Howayek Hall and the Al Khor Hall of Bishop Youhanna Tohme, in addition to the signing ceremony of the history book of the Maronite Diocese in Egypt, where he was a guest of Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, Patriarch of the Maronite Church, at St. Joseph Maronite School in Al-Zaher region.
The Archbishop praised the good reception and the good organization of the ceremony by the Maronite Church, adding: I was pleased to be with the leaders of the various churches yesterday in the hospitality of the Maronite Church in Egypt.
